Project Goal
Our goal is to create a new system to handle premium online testing for students and to support as many interactive, complex question types as possible.
Project Description
Students can register online and buy test packs suitable to their grade. Once they bought a test pack, they can perform all tests in it online at anytime convenient to them.
Our system has two web projects, one for admin to manage all system data and view reports. Another web project with different design for students to register, buy tests, do tests and view their results.
Admin system has following major features:
– User management
– Product management: managing tests, test packs, test suites. A test suite is a product that students can buy or subscribe to, it can have multiple pricing plan, the longer the subscription the cheaper price it should be. A test suite has many test packs, each pack for one subject, and in each pack we have many individual tests.
– Question library: managing questions, question categories.
– Reports: drill-down-able reports on status of each tests, or test results of each student.
Front end system has following major features:
– Student registration, profile, login.
– Product list: browsing test suites (products), view their pricing plans and details.
– Checkout: student buy product online using eWay
– Student dashboard: accessing all products they bought and see related products
– Test player: student perform each selected test online, the test can be time controlled or not.
– Student result pages: after exam or from dashboard, student can always view test result of all their attempts.
The star feature of our project is the powerful interactive question types:
– Simple types: single choice, multiple choice, short or long text answer, fill-in-blank (text input or dropdown of choices).
– Complex types: matrix checkbox, matric radio, composite (one question instruction with multiple sub-questions)
– Interactive:
+ Fill in blank drag & drop: drop answer (text/image) into blank spaces in a paragraph.
+ Hot text: clickable words/pharses in a paragraph
+ Hot spot: clickable areas in a question image
+ Inline drag & drop: re-order items (text/image) in a line
+ Hot spot drag & drop: drag & drop items (text/image) onto a question image
+ Drop-zone drag & drop: drag & drop items (text/images) into predefined zones, each zone has a header text
+ Match the pairs: click to match items (text/image) in two pre-defined set of items.
